back in the philippines, fun for me was doing the wallpaper or painting the kitchen/toilets. other months, i'd sew curtains for the sala or newly "recycled" tablecloth, which were cut-offs from our kurtinas. (sayang eh...) and this was before november, the time i decorate the house for christmas. i found joy in doing these around the house....
i missed them so much...that i bullied E into allowing me to bring my singer sewing machine last january. kahit mabigat ha! kaya nga heto....last january nakapanahi ng pjs and shorts, repair ng mga pants and a blouse. at the moment i'm trying to conceptualize a sleeveless blouse ....kung papano ko tatahiin. heto siguro ang hirap ng walang formal training sa pananahi...ika nga eh, bahala na si Lord! of course, i believe that "practise makes perfect"....pero mas gusto ko kung planado ang mga gagawin para hindi palpak. ang tagal ko pa namang binuro itong telang ito...taon na ang binilang...nabitbit ko lang ito from home para may pagpraktisan ako. back in high school, i was one of those na unang nagsusubmit ng projects sa practical arts. kaya dun ko nakuha ang kaalaman at siguro mana rin ako sa nanay ko... na kung manahi ng damit eh, terno pa kami ni GM. while i'm on the planning stage...(take note: kumpleto na ko sa sinulid at butones) i'm into other things like making memo boards out of cloth with ginanchilyo na sidings and hearts....at ang pinaka-addictive sa akin sa ngayon ay ang pag-"scrapbook". ang dami ko kasing pictures na dala so i wanted to organize them somehow para di makalat.
scrapbooking is a form of art for me. it gives satisfaction while you step back and take a LONG look.....masasabi mong........."ang pangit ko pala noon! "(hehehhehe) mga litrato na dapat ay nakangiti ka pero ng magclick ang magkokodak eh nakangiwi ka o nakapikit...may mga style pa naka-"inhale look" para di halata malaki ang tiyan mo.... anyway, the background adds to the funny and not-so-good looking pics.
i've finished some picture frames/plaques made of country printed cloth last week. " gusgusin style" pinagpupunit ko by hand just to add some drama. at sayang naman ang mga retaso ko eh. pang-valentine ek-ek ko sana sa mga friends ko dito. i'll attach one or two pics later.
